Seller Roles & Expectations

Thank you so much for being part of the Local Street Community!  Here are some things to remember as you get started about your role for your Local Street storefront.

When you set up a store on Local Street it is your responsibility to oversee the entire management process for your business. This includes: 

  • Setting up Stripe
  • Product Management
  • Shipping Preferences
  • Order Management
  • Customer Services

By actively managing these aspects, you contribute to the smooth operation of your store on Local Street and ensure a positive experience for your customers.  


Setting up Stripe

Setting up Stripe is important, this is how you get paid! Also, customers cannot place an order until this is complete.  Be sure to setup your Payment Settings. Visit our Learning Centre for support.  

Product Management

It is your responsibility to add and regularly maintain your products, you can do this from your store’s Product Settings.  For assistance visit our Learning Centre for support.

Customer Services

At Local Street, we prioritise customer service excellence to ensure a positive shopping experience from start to finish. Our goal is to leave a lasting impression that encourages customers to return for more and share their positive experiences with friends.

Orders and inquiries

  • Please check all incoming orders, reach out to customers as needed, and respond to all inquiries within 48 hours
  • Taking some time off?  No problem!  You can set a vacation notice on your store to let customers know you will be away, and respond upon your return. You can find this setting in your profile.

Shipping Preferences 

You must set your shipping preferences.  This allows you to customise your shipping preferences including locations, delivery/shipping options and fees, pick-up options, and more. 


Ensure you have added a general timeline for fulfilment, shipping and refund policy.   This will help your customers understand what they are committing to and reduce any confusion.  You can do this by going to your store’s Shipping Settings in your profile and clicking on ‘Shipping Policies’ on the top right-hand side where you will find a “‘Processing Time” drop-down menu. So that customers are aware of how long their order will take to be ready.

Order Fulfilment 

Be diligent in checking and responding to your orders on Local Street.  You will receive an email to the account we have on file.  

  • Make sure you are in touch with your customer if there is a delay or an issue with the order
  • Make sure to mark the order as fulfilled when it is complete, your customer will then get a notice that their order is on the way.

Our expectation is that within the next 30 days, you’ll get your basic information and some first products (or all) into the platform. This swift timeline ensures that your unique offerings quickly become part of the fantastic offerings that define our local online marketplace.
