"Carol Nothrop passed her love of Halloween and all things spooky down to her daughters Nikki Mackenzie and Virginia Fagan. It quickly became their favourite time of year, a time to come together on go on adventures. The three would get together year after year and seek out spooky thrills. Whether it be spending the night in Lizzie Borden’s bed and breakfast or checking out the many different haunted attractions across the USA. One year spent in Sleepy Hollow, another in Salem learning about witch trials. One year driving all the way out to New Orleans, touring abandoned asylums and sanatoriums along the way. Flying to Oaxaca Mexico to celebrate day of the dead, there was no location Carol and her girls wouldn’t travel. It was this love of all things spooky that inspired Nikki to host a Pumpkin Patch this year and display some of her MANY Halloween decorations."

Personally, I had a WICKED 
scare driving down the 12th while coming home from Sheldon Creek Dairy, and was inspired by one of the scarecrows and I painted this piece - the 12th Creeper.

In loving memory of Carol, I will be donating a portion of the sales of this painting back to Matthews House Hospice.
