About this product

ย I have no political affiliation but wanted to share so information about each party and a high level of their intent with the housing industry.ย
๐Ÿ Liberal Party proposed changes -
๐ŸŒŸTweak the First Time Home Buyer Incentive
๐ŸŒŸ Under the current First Time Home Buyer Incentive, the government receives an equity share in your home (5% for resales and up to 10% for builds).ย  Under the new plan, participants could choose between the shared-equity arrangement or opt for a loan that is repayable.
๐Ÿ NDP Party proposed changes -
๐ŸŒŸ Reintroduce 30 year terms for entry level homes for first time home buyers that are insured by the CMHC.
๐ŸŒŸ Create at least 500,000 quality affordable housing units over the next 10 years.
๐Ÿ Conservative Party proposed changes -
๐ŸŒŸThe Conservatives' election platform features a plan to build one million homes over three years, the conversion of at least 15 percent of federal government property into housing and the creation of an Indigenous housing strategy.
๐ŸŒŸ A Conservative government would also bar foreign investors who are not living or moving to Canada from buying a home for at least the next two years.
๐ŸŒŸ They also want to encourage the offering of seven-to-10-year mortgages and to make tweaks to the stress test and insurance requirements to help people qualify more easily for financing.
